Responding with practical support
Advancing Reduced Inequalities and Well Being, a Ramadan of companionship for orphaned children. Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 10, Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 3, Good Health and Well being, the Al Wasiyo Orphanage Ramadan Visit brought food, gifts, and companionship to children who are among the most socially excluded in their communities. The team hosted an Iftar gathering, served food, and distributed goody bags, an intervention aimed squarely at SDG 10's target of promoting the social, economic, and political inclusion of vulnerable groups regardless of circumstance.
Objective
The visit aimed to create a memorable Ramadan experience for orphaned children through food, gifts, and companionship, supporting their emotional well being under SDG 3 and their social inclusion under SDG 10. The visit benefited 100 orphaned children. A complete Iftar meal was served to all attendees. Goody bags were distributed to every child. SDG Alignment. SDG 10, Reduced Inequalities, provided direct inclusion and support for a socially vulnerable group of children. SDG 3, Good Health and Well being, offered nutritional and emotional support through the shared Iftar and gifts. SDG 2, Zero Hunger, addressed immediate nutritional need through meal provision.
