Responding with practical support
Advancing Zero Hunger, a practical response to food insecurity. Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 2, Zero Hunger, and SDG 1, No Poverty, the Rashan Project 2026 became one of Khayaban e Khwahish's largest humanitarian initiatives. The team conducted fundraising, procured supplies, verified beneficiaries, and organized responsible distribution, ensuring vulnerable families accessed sufficient, nutritious food with dignity. This reflects a core target under SDG 2.2, which calls for ending all forms of malnutrition.
Objective
The project aimed to reduce food insecurity and support household resilience by providing essential groceries to deserving families, contributing directly to SDG 2's target of ensuring access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food throughout the year. The project distributed 150 Rashan bags to food insecure households. It raised over PKR 1 Million through community driven fundraising, reflecting SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals. Each package included 20 kilograms of Atta, 3 kilograms of Sugar, and 3 kilograms of Meezan Ghee, covering essential caloric needs. SDG 1, No Poverty, provided direct relief that reduced economic strain on vulnerable households. SDG 2, Zero Hunger, ensured provision of essential food supplies to food insecure families. SDG 3, Good Health and Well being, improved nutrition security for recipient households. SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals, reflected the community fundraising and collaborative distribution network behind the effort.
